Men of literature and society have written much about the golden liquid. Perhaps, it has to do with the fact that whisky is a romanticized result of passion and toil, or may be because its rich history makes it a particularly vibrant raconteur among all spirits. Nevertheless, anecdotes give little milieu to the drink except attaching another layer of lore around the spirit.
Our endeavour is to break through the hype built around whisky, and demystify the drink, from the novice to the connoisseur. This is a journey, where we will walk through the sublime world of whisky drinking, and facilitate the truest form of indulgence. All the while ensuring that every bit is enjoyable for you!

Anchal Kaushal Whisky Mentor
It was many years back, when I discovered the beauty of the inimitable spirit called whisky.
The mat was neatly laid out in front of me, four blends were poured out. The whisky expert was almost nagging us to say the words out loud – pineapple, marzipan, vanilla. While, I just looked on.
I am not too sure whether to call it love at first sight. But, the whisky that day, lingered longer than usual, and I couldn’t help be intrigued by the alchemy. Yes, I will use the word alchemy for whisky, because such is the drink and its charm.
This was around the time when I had just made a major shift in my career – from telecom to the world of spirits. From managing communication technology, I was at Pernod Ricard, the world’s second wine and spirits company managing marketing portfolios of single malts, premium and super premium scotch whiskies.
My relationship with whisky evolved over the years, particularly facilitated by my position as a brand custodian. At first, it was academic curiosity, then keen interest, and finally, a genuine passion. So, after seven years with Pernod Ricard, and eleven years of corporate life, I quit my job, and cascaded into the world of whiskies, in pursuit of deeper expertise. The calling had been on the cards for long; it just took me time to embrace the idea.
I began my journey by making a pilgrimage to the spiritual capital of whisky, Scotland. I spent eight weeks educating myself with the assistance of some of the most experienced whisky makers, experts and ambassadors. I lived close to the distilleries, some of the most famous in the world, and traced the processes. I imbibed the experience, immersing in the new chapters I was learning every day. Soon enough, I was taking groups on distillery tours, and doing whisky appreciation sessions with them.
After coming home, it quietly dawned on me that every whisky appreciation has a tale to tell. A labyrinth of conversations is ready to spring up with every sip. I felt the urge to share the science, craft and the art of whisky with other like-minded individuals. In my mind, I envisioned a space where unique collaborations could be curated, and newer ways of enhancing whisky drinking could be explored.
It was then that I created Liquid Sunshine, an endeavour born out of the love for whisky.
